Corrections Education
GED, HSED and ABE instruction is offered at the Chippewa, Dunn and Eau Claire County Jails. Instructors work with the assistance of trained volunteer tutors at various times throughout the week. Two additional programs are conducted within the one or more of our jail locations. A book club meets monthly with volunteer tutors facilitating discussion about an assigned book. Prior to Christmas and Easter, volunteer tutors, board members, and staff assist inmates record reading a book to their children on tape. The books and tapes are wrapped and sent to the children of the inmates.
