Events
Literacy Volunteers – Chippewa Valley holds several events through the year including an evening of Wine Tasting, a Scrabble Bee Fundraiser and our Celebration of the Stars.
The Toast for Literacy offers a chance to meet with others and experience some great wines. The evening is capped off with a silent auction for many fine items. Please contact Amanda Mouttaki at 715-834-2531 for information.
Our Scrabble Bee Fundraiser started small but has evolved into a fun evening event for a team “competition” for groups up to six people working with a Scrabble game board and a bag of 100 tiles. With three fun-filled rounds of modified Scrabble, everyone from the casual to the die-hard Scrabble player will have fun. If you and your friends are interested in playing or you are a business looking to sponsor the event, team or table, please contact Amanda Mouttaki at 715-834-2531 or email. Scrabble Bee 2011 will be held April 7th at 29 Pines/ Sleep Inn Eau Claire.
Our last, but by no means least, event is purely for the fun and celebration of our students and tutors. In May, we have our Celebration of the Stars to honor the students and tutors for everything they have accomplished for the year. Literacy Volunteers – Chippewa Valley appreciates everything that our volunteer tutors do for our organization and our students. Without them, our organization would not be able to support as many learners as we do. And more importantly, our students, without whom our volunteers would have nothing to do. We applaude the strength and courage it takes for a student to ask for and commit to making an improvement in their lives.
