  • Heidi Fisher awarded Senn Award at United Way Gold Awards event for excellence in non-profit leadership in the Chippewa Valley.
    .

  • Literacy Volunteers' student Oksana Nakonechna was named Wisconsin Literacy's Outstanding English Language Learner of the year. Staff member Jane Rockwell was named as Literacy Advocate of the year - Honorable Mention. Partner Program, Northern Region Family Literacy Program had their student Rita Cordes named as the Outstanding Literacy Learner of the Year.

  • United Way Day of Caring project – held during the campaign kick-off week (9/14/07). J.C. Penneys employees painted a small office and the break room at the Literacy Volunteers central office. Target employees painted the toddler room at the Family Literacy site located in the Masonic Center., and LarsonAllen employees painted the baby room at the Family Literacy site located in the Masonic Center.   Click here to see pictures.

  • A special edition of "Celebrate Writing", our annual collection of students' writing, is available. Mike Perry, local best selling author, has written a special forward for the book. For this special edition, tutors have been asked to contribute a story. If you would like a copy, contact any staff member.

  • Partner Masonic Temple has changed its name to Masonic Center.
